· Common OSHA violations in the spring industry and what to do to abate them before OSHA arrives at your door.
· What to do after the OSHA citation arrives.
· How to contest citations.

Who should attend: All those interested in acquiring an understanding of OSHA inspections.This should include: top management, plant managers, safety directors and safety committee members.

Conducted by SMI's Jim Wood, independent regulations compliance consultant. He has more than 30 years of practical manufacturing experience and is a certified instructor for the OSHA outreach program. Wood began working with SMI members in 1993 and, since then, has conducted numerous safety inspections and seminars.

Wood has practical experience in plant safety, having served as manufacturing engineering and safety director for 13 years, and as vice president of operations for a major manufacturing corporation for 17 years. He mixes personal experience with touches of humor to create an educational and enjoyable program.

Confirmation: Instructions for the Web conference will be e-mailed to all participants, provided their registration is received at the SMI office by May 27, 2011.

Cancellation Policy: The enrollment fee (minus a $20 nonrefundable registration charge) may be refunded up to seven days prior to the start of the program. SMI reserves the right to cancel the program by May 27, 2011, if an insufficient number of people register. In case of cancellation, SMI will refund all deposits.
