SMI Online Saftey Seminar
How to Survive an OSHA Audit
May 13, 2009
Presented by Jim Wood, SMI Regulations Compliance Manager

This spring, be sure to sign up for SMI’s essential online safety seminar, which will walk you through an OSHA audit step by step. Participate from the comfort and convenience of your own office – no travel time or travel expenses involved!

Through a combination of telephone conferencing and Web technology, participants will be able to:

· Listen to the presentation by Jim Wood
· See notes, charts and pictures on their screens via an online interface
· Interact with the presenter and other participants to ask questions and share experiences at designated intervals.

In essence, you will get all the advantages of an in-person group seminar without all the hassles. Designed for safety managers, safety committee members, plant managers and company executives, this online seminar will cover the following topics in detail:

· What OSHA inspectors will be looking for when they visit your facility.
· Common OSHA violations in the spring industry and what to do to abate them before OSHA arrives at your door.
· What to do after the OSHA citation arrives.
· How to contest citations.

Jim Wood is an independent regulations compliance consultant to the Spring Manufacturers Institute and a certified instructor of the OSHA Out-Reach Program. His plant safety audits and in-house safety trainings help companies create safer work environments, limit OSHA/Canadian Ministry of Labor violations and insurance costs, and prepare for VPP or SHARP certification.
