Spring Testing Machine
Guilin Wintime Testing Machine Co. Ltd. has developed a computer-controlled spring testing machine, TCD-CH-200KN. It is designed to perform testing on compression and extension springs of heavy duty and heavy load, especially to test the axial and lateral load and lateral displacement of railway springs according to EN13298. The TCD-CH-200KN features a highly rigid column structure design, with patented technologies such as a crossbeam vibration reduction system and double cycloidal reducers, to provide a stable test under high speed and with a large load. A servo-drive controls the frame’s loading crosshead for fully automatic load testing with speeds up to 500mm/min. Belt Conveyor Oven
The Grieve Corp. has introduced the No. 820 550°F electric belt conveyor oven. Workloads travel atop an 84-inch-wide carbon steel flat wire conveyor belt with ½ HP motor drive, variable from 2.9 to eight feet per minute, through a six-foot-long open unloading zone. The 360 kW power is installed in Incoloy-sheathed tubular heating elements, while a 24,500 CFM, 20 HP recirculating blower provides vertical downward airflow onto the workload. The oven features a welded aluminized steel exterior, Type 430 stainless steel interior, four-inch insulated walls and structural steel channel base. Safety equipment includes a digital indicating temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller with separate heating element control contactors, recirculation blower airflow safety switch, and an exhaust hood over each end equipped with an axial fan. Stick Lubricant
ITW Rocol North America has developed Accu-Lube Stick, an environmentally friendly, ready-to-use stick lubricant that is applied to the tool before startup. It can be used on grinding wheels to allow them to cut freely and improve wheel life. Accu-Lube Stick enhances finishes for belt grinding and increases belt life. It can also be used on saw blades to improve blade life. It reduces heat buildup in belt, disc or wheel grinding operations and is safe for all metals, including aluminum. Accu-Lube Stick does not need to be diluted with any other material, and does not cause contamination or discoloration of products. Since it is biodegradable, non-toxic and naturally consumed in the process, the need for cleanup and disposal is eliminated. Slip Resistance Matting
Plastex Matting Inc. has announced the U.S. availability of Vynagrip slip-resistance matting through its Alabama manufacturing facility. Vynagrip is suitable for any manufacturing or industrial environment, including inclines. It features a firm tread and open grid for debris collection in dry spaces or rapid drainage in wet spaces, indoors or out. In addition to accident prevention, it has been scientifically proven in a University of Hertfordshire, England, study to reduce standing fatigue. Vynagrip is chemical, oil and acid resistant. Ansell Ltd. has introduced HyFlex 11-624 gloves that offer cut resistance along with comfort, flexibility and durability. This addition to the HyFlex line features an exclusive knit liner combination DSM Dyneema, Spandex and nylon to provide workers with ANSI Level 2 cut protection to safely handle sharp objects such as metal, glass, plastics and ceramics. The lightweight, black polyurethane coating assures a medium high level of abrasion resistance and a sure grip in light oil and dry applications. Because Dyneema is unaffected by water or detergents, HyFlex 11-627 gloves can be washed and re-used without losing any cut protection. Alarm and Shutdown Protection
IMI Sensors, a division of PCB Piezotronics, has developed the Series 684 vibration alarm module to provide machine shutdown protection when increased vibration levels signify potential failure. These modules are available in various sizes and include up to eight channels in a single NEMA 4X enclosure. ICP (IEPE) Piezolectric or 4-20 mA sensors interface directly with the system, which is universally powered and provides appropriate excitation voltages. Within each indicator channel is up to four form C relays, for alarm or shutdown control.
Each meter has the ability to integrate an acceleration signal and display the units in acceleration, velocity, or displacement on the highly visible, bright display. Inks for Ink-Jet Systems
Matthews Marking Products has introduced the SCP-800 series of inks for use with existing Drop-on-Demand ink-jet systems. Formulated to provide a strong contrast, these pigmented inks are available in light blue, yellow, and white for marking on a comprehensive range of materials. They are well-suited for non-porous surfaces, such as metal, plastic and rubber. The SCP-800 series provides good adhesion as well as abrasion resistance. Inspection System
Dunkley International Inc. has introduced an automated vision system that is capable of sorting fasteners up to 10 times the speed of previous machines. The Cyprovision Mach 7 model is versatile, capable of inspecting a variety of metal parts at unusually high rates of throughput. Marketed under the brand name Cyprovision, the machine can inspect up to 3,000 pieces per minute (compared with the 300-per-minute rate of former turnkey machines). It is not suitable for parts that can easily interlock or tangle. An operator is required only to participate in the material handling of the fully weight-counted boxes after machine inspection. The guide, developed with the assistance of the FCIB, the association of executives in Finance, Credit and International Business, is designed to be a comprehensive, informative and easy-to-understand tool created specifically for U.S. small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Workbench Organizer
IAC Industries has introduced the Multi-Task System, MTS, to clear clutter from workbench surfaces. The MTS is an upper structure for stand-alone workbenches that creates a vertical area above the work surface for storage units, shelving, parts cups, electrical outlets, lighting and other accessories. It attaches to the rear of the work surface or workbench frame and is available in multiple lengths to fit 48-, 60-, 72- and 96-inch workbenches.
IAC also introduced angled workbenches, including sectional tilt tops, indexing rotary surfaces, PCB rails, and embedded roller conveyors or ball transfer systems. Each enables users to adjust the work surface position or the product itself for easy assembly and manipulation. The tilt top has 13 adjustments; the rotary surface is a circular system built flush into the work surface; and for circuit board assembly, IAC offers a slide rail system.
