Dr. Laura Helmrich-Rhodes, CSP, is SMI’s regulatory compliance consultant. Laura is a board-certified safety professional in comprehensive practice and has decades of industrial loss control experience. She is a former member of Pennsylvania OSHA Consultation. Laura is an associate professor at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she teaches graduate and undergraduate classes on topics such as OSHA standards, safety communications, workers’ compensation, and human relations. Laura earned her doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh, where her dissertation focused on the intersection of human resources and safety professions and the need for human resource professionals to gain graduate safety education. She holds a bachelor’s in safety sciences and a master’s degree in industrial and labor relations. Laura is available for safety advice and information.
